A Significant inbound DDOS network attack in currently ongoing, targeting the register365 DNS servers.

Most subnets and customers should be running fine, with increased latency for some.

DNS resolution latency is high which may be causing issues for customers using the old shared hosting NS

Update: Most traffic has now been blackholed with our upstreams. However we are still sustaining in excess of 1.3gbps of inbound attack. Almost all services are now fully restored although some customers may experience higher latency than normal while we complete the lock down.

Update: Traffic levels are reducing as we work to blackhole the attack with our upstream providers. Only the target server and servers uplinked in the same cabinet are currently impacted.

Update: All services are back to normal.

As standard, a detailed ‘Reason for Outage’ report will be emailed directly to those customers effected by this attack. Please accept our thanks for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience, unfortunately, attacks such as these are more and more a fact of life for larger, or higher profile sites. We are in discussions with a number of vendors about enhancing our existing security, authentication and IPS systems with a dedicated dDoS mitigation platform. Further details on this will be mailed directly to customers in the near future.
